Outer Barrier Reef

Snorkel Tours

Wavelength

Wavelength offers a personalised full-day outer reef snorkelling experience with a maximum of 48 passengers on a boat designed for 100 . This snorkel-only tour visits three reef sites and includes morning tea, a deli-style lunch, snorkelling equipment, and informative marine biologist talks.

Calypso 

Calypso is another wonderful option offers both snorkel-only and combined snorkel-and-dive tours. The tours visit three stunning reef sites — Opal Reef for snorkel-only, or Agincourt and Opal Reef for snorkel and dive tours. Each experience includes morning tea, lunch, snorkelling equipment, and engaging marine biologist presentations. The snorkel and dive vessel is a 24-metre catamaran with a capacity of 85 guests, while the snorkel-only vessel is a 21-metre catamaran accommodating up to 70 guests.

Diving Tours

Poseidon

A fantastic option for divers ( and snorkelling) 24 m catamaran for an unforgettable reef adventure. Focusing on personal service, the boat visits three exclusive reef sites on the Agincourt Ribbon Reefs. A day with Poseidon includes return coach transfers from Port Douglas, a tropical buffet lunch, morning and afternoon tea, and reef‑bio briefings from onboard marine biologists.

Silversonic 

Silversonic is a sleek, high-speed 29‑metre catamaran that departs daily to explore the pristine Agincourt Ribbon Reefs. Whether you’re an experienced diver or new to scuba, Silversonic has you covered — certified divers can do up to three guided dives, and there’s also introductory diving for beginners. The vessel itself is built for comfort: it has a computerised ride-control system (so the trip is smoother, even at ~32 knots), hydraulic water-access platforms, change rooms, hot freshwater showers, air‑conditioned lounges, expansive sundecks, and a licensed bar. Your day also includes morning tea, a tropical buffet lunch, afternoon tea, and guided reef interpretation.

Non Swimmers/Young Families

Quicksilver

Quicksilvers pontoon is the best option to see the Great Barrier Reef without getting wet! The outer‑reef pontoon, anchored at the stunning Agincourt Ribbon Reef, offers a full-day Great Barrier Reef experience tailored for everyone — swimmers and non-swimmers alike. The platform features a large, modern floating hub with semi-submersible tours, an underwater observatory, snorkel pools, dive areas, change rooms, freshwater showers, and even a licensed bar.Throughout the day you’ll get a marine biology presentation, fish‑feeding sessions, and unlimited semi‑sub rides for incredible reef viewing. Low Isles ( inner reef)

Sailaway 

Sailaway offers a serene and unforgettable way to explore the Great Barrier Reef. Sail on a comfortable, eco-conscious catamaran to Low Isles, a pristine coral cay known for its white sandy beaches, vibrant coral gardens, and abundant marine life. Guests can enjoy guided snorkeling, reef interpretation, and relaxing time on the island, all while experiencing the natural beauty and tranquility of this iconic reef destination. Tours run from 8-4 or 1-6pm ( our favorite tour, includes sunset sail. note that the 1-6pm is 13y+)

Calypso 

Calypso Low Isles Tour offers a peaceful, half‑day reef escape on a small, comfortable vessel (max ~23 guests) from Port Douglas. In about 30 minutes, you’ll arrive at the sheltered, coral‑rimmed Low Isles. Guests enjoy around 2.5 hours of free time to snorkel in the calm lagoon, explore via glass‑bottom boat, or take a guided walk to the historic lighthouse and its surrounding island paths.

Reef Sprinter

Reef Sprinter offers a fast and memorable way to experience the Great Barrier Reef. Departing from Port Douglas, you’ll reach the pristine Low Isles in just 15 minutes. Enjoy 3½ hours on this idyllic coral cay with options to snorkel in the calm lagoon, take a guided island walk to the historic lighthouse, or explore the reef via the glass-bottom boat. All snorkelling gear, stinger suits, and expert guidance are included, making it perfect for families or first-time snorkelers seeking a safe, nature-rich reef adventure.

Wavedancer 

Wavedancer is a family friendly option, Quicksilver’s elegant 30‑metre sailing catamaran. This day cruise combines the fun of sailing with immersive reef experiences — you’ll enjoy guided snorkelling, a glass‑bottom boat tour, and a marine biologist–led beach walk across the island’s heritage trail.
