Best Breakfast & Brunch in Port Douglas

Best Breakfast & Brunch in Port Douglas

Breakfast is commonly referred to as the ‘most important meal of the day’, and we tend to agree.

It’s important to fuel your body for the day whether you’re hitting the Reef, exploring the Daintree or simply chilling out by the pool.

The team at Coconut Grove Port Douglas have been hard at work trying and testing the best breakfast spots that this seaside town has to offer. Here are the very best of the best… Enjoy!

Choo Choo's at the Marina

Sits right on the waterfront of the Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina in Port Douglas, offering a laid-back dining experience with beautiful marina views. Open seven days, it serves breakfast and lunch from 7 am, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. You can relax on the deck or dine in converted Bally Hooley train carriages — a charming nod to the area’s heritage.

Lure

With picturesque boardwalk location at the Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina, Lure Restaurant boasts a sprawling waterfront deck, spectacular views over the mountains and rainforest and an impressive breakfast menu. Lure is as easy on the eyes as it is pleasing to the palate. The Marina is a 10 minute leisurely stroll from Coconut Grove, the perfect way to kick start your day.

*TIP*
On most Wednesdays the Reef Marina Sunset Markets are held from 2pm. Enjoy a late breakfast at Lure, browse the Marina shops and then hit the markets!

Café Fresq

All day breakfast. Need we say more? We are firm believers in breakfast at any time of the day, especially when you’re on vacation. Café Fresq serves up modern dining with all your favourite breakfast items. Try their barista coffee, freshly squeezed juices or even a Bloody Mary.

St Crispins Cafe

St Crispins Cafe has definitely proven itself to be one of the top spots for a freshly brewed latte and wonderful breakfast. Located on the lakeside at St. Crispin’s station, guests can enjoy panoramic views in a tranquil atmosphere.

Toast Sandwich Bar

Toast Sandwich Bar is a laid-back café tucked into Port Village on Macrossan Street, serving up breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Their menu leans into comfort and nostalgia — think toasted jaffles, signature sandwiches, hand-crafted bagels, and all-day brunch classics.

Grant Street Kitchen

Nestled in the heart of Port Douglas at the corner of Grant and Macrossan Streets, Grant Street Kitchen is a charming artisan bakery-café open daily from 6 am it’s the kind of place that welcomes early risers and laid-back brunch crowds alike. On the shelves you’ll find fresh, scratch-made pastries, flaky croissants, house-baked bread, and sweet treats — all baked onsite each morning. For something more substantial, their all-day menu offers light meals, pies , sandwiches, and salads.
