Best Breakfast & Brunch in Port Douglas
Breakfast is commonly referred to as the ‘most important meal of the day’, and we tend to agree.
It’s important to fuel your body for the day whether you’re hitting the Reef, exploring the Daintree or simply chilling out by the pool.
The team at Coconut Grove Port Douglas have been hard at work trying and testing the best breakfast spots that this seaside town has to offer. Here are the very best of the best… Enjoy!
The Little Larder
Follow in the local’s footsteps and head to the award-winning Little Larder for a killer coffee and flavoursome meal, located in the centre of Macrossan St. The menu includes unique, modern dishes plus all the much-loved breakfast classics with a twist that certainly don’t compromise on flavour. We love the breakfast tacos and wild mushrooms on toast.
*TIP* These guys serve up some great sandwiches for lunch.
Lure
With picturesque boardwalk location at the Marina, Lure Restaurant boasts a sprawling waterfront deck, spectacular views over the mountains and rainforest and an impressive breakfast menu. Lure is as easy on the eyes as it is pleasing to the palate. The Marina is a 10 minute leisurely stroll from Coconut Grove, the perfect way to kick start your day.
*TIP* On most Wednesdays the Reef Marina Sunset Markets are held from 2pm. Enjoy a late breakfast at Lure, browse the Marina shops and then hit the markets!
Café Fresq
All day breakfast. Need we say more? We are firm believers in breakfast at any time of the day, especially when you’re on vacation. Café Fresq serves up modern dining with all your favourite breakfast items. Try their barista coffee, freshly squeezed juices or even a Bloody Mary.
*TIP* Great for families with an awesome kids menu.
Choo Choo’s
One of the newer cafes in town, Choo Choo’s has definitely proven itself to be one of the top spots for a freshly brewed latte and good value breakfast. Located on the lakeside at St. Crispin’s station, guests can enjoy panoramic views in a tranquil atmosphere, 7 days a week.
*TIP* On a Sunday you can catch the Bally Hooley steam train to St. Crispin’s station which a great experience for the whole family.
Hi Tide Café
Life is good at the beach. Make the most of your seaside location and take a short stroll to Four Mile Beach and dine at Hi Tide Café. Listen to the sound of the waves gently crashing on the shore while you feast on a scrumptious breakfast in a relaxed and casual atmosphere.
*TIP* Get up early and have a refreshing morning swim before breakfast, it will make your meal even more satisfying.
