Port Douglas is a stepping off point for tours to the Great Barrier Reef (snorkelling and diving are readily available), private fishing charters and 4-Wheel Drive adventures through rainforest and beyond to Cape Tribulation, the rolling hills of Atherton Tablelands and the red dust of the outback.

Closer to home, bike hire is readily available, as are a range of water sports activities on Four-Mile Beach.
