Barbados
Step into Barbados and be transported to a faraway destination in the tropical Bahamas. Think cosy day beds overlooking the water, fringing palm trees, Caribbean cocktails and a laidback atmosphere, however not skipping out on the excellent service. The decor is classy yet funky with bright whites and blue nautical stripes. Watch the sun sink in front of you in a magnificent array of colours that will leave you with some quality holiday snaps to make your friends and family green with envy. The menu is inspired by local produce with many share options like coconut and lime crusted prawns, cheese & antipasto platters, sashimi and oysters. Barbados is located at the end of the Marina, a 10-12 minute walk from Coconut Grove.

Watergate
A solid favourite amongst locals and visitors alike, Watergate has earnt its reputation as a classy cocktail bar and contemporary restaurant located in the heart of Port Douglas. In a leafy setting, hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Macrossan St, Watergate has a private, intimate atmosphere with flame lit torches and lush tropical gardens. Chill out in the bar lounge with one of their mouth-watering cocktails; alternatively enjoy a meal in their open-air restaurant that will not disappoint the tastebuds.
TIP: Bookings are essential for majority of the year as this is a well-known spot to flock. The Pineapple Boussa cocktail is a must try – a delicious blend of burnt pineapple, cardamom, cinnamon, spiced rum and lime. Heaven!
Hemingway’s
Hemingway’s Microbrewery is the newest kid on the block and the first of its kind in Port Douglas. Located at the Marina with gorgeous water and mountain views, this funky bar serves up onsite-brewed beer, local wines, spirits and even a few cocktails to tickle your fancy. The hand-crafted beers are designed to compliment the tropical climate and fresh local produce on their food menu. Weather you like your beer pale or dark, fruity or spicy, refreshing or malty – Hemingway’s have the perfect pick for you.
TIP: Don’t rush choosing your beer! The staff will gladly let you try and taste each beer to ensure you find your perfect match.
Anzac Park
An absolute ‘must-do’ when visiting Port Douglas is a trip down to Anzac Park for a sensational sunset that will leave you breathless. This coconut palm tree lined park is the perfect backdrop for a jaw-dropping TNQ sunset. Pack some snacks, a bottle of wine, gather some like-minded sunset gazers and relish in the magic of the sun setting on another day and the moon rising over the horizon. Soak up the sizzling sunset and make sure to take a happy snap, as it will definitely be a moment to be remembered! The park is an easy stroll down Macrossan St from Coconut Grove – about a 10-minute walk.
TIP: Bring a picnic blanket and some mosquito repellent so you can sit back in comfort and enjoy an epic sunset that looks like fairy floss – so good you could eat it!
