Onsite Facilities

Swimming Pool

The Swimming Pool is open from 7am until 9pm. Please note that there is no life guard on duty and parents/guardians are responsible for the safety of children. No Child is permitted in the pool enclosure unsupervised at any time.

Tours

For Detailed information on local tours and attractions visit reception. All tours can be arranged by our staff and charged to your room account. This is a free service. (See Recreation – Things to do in the area for recommendations)

Massage & Beauty Therapy

Our friendly reception staff can help you with planning and booking your massage and beauty treatments. We can arrange for a therapist to come and treat you in the privacy of your apartment.

Guest Services

Adaptors

Adaptors for European and US plugs are available at Reception. Please note these are adaptors not transformers. A deposit may be required.

Air Conditioners

All apartments at Coconut Grove are air conditioned. They are operated by a remote control that can be found attached to the wall inside your room.

Please be aware that for the air conditioners to be effective all external doors must be kept closed. To operate the air conditioner press the Manual On button to turn on and off, and to change the temperature press either the Warmer or Cooler button.

We ask your assistance in conserving energy by turning off your air conditioning whilst you’re not in your apartment.

Alarms

In the event an alarm sounds please stand by for an announcement over the public address system. Please do not panic and follow instructions from staff members. For more detailed information please see the section labelled Safety & Security.

Appliances

Washing Machine – Instructions are located on the wall in the laundry.

Oven – Instructions are located in the cupboard under the kitchen sink.

Television – Instructions are in the booklet located on the Entertainment unit.

Dishwashing Machine – Dishwashing Tablets are to be used not liquid.

Automatic Glass Door

The automatic glass doors in the foyer will be locked each night when reception closes and re-opened in the morning at 8am. The doors will automatically open when exiting the foyer, to access the doors from the outside use your room key in the key slot on the right side of the doors.

Baby Sitting

Please contact Reception for the contact details of professional child minders. Any charges are a matter of negotiation between you and the baby sitter directly.

Baggage

On arrival staff can assist you with your luggage to your room. If you require assistance with your luggage on departure, please call reception by dialling 9. If you arrive at the hotel early and your apartment is not ready we will be more than happy to store it for you.

Barbecues

Each apartment has its own barbecue. There is also a communal outdoor barbecue and entertainment area adjacent to the communal pool.

BYO Alcohol

Alcohol is not sold on the premises; however, sensible alcohol consumption is permitted in your apartment and in the communal barbecue and entertainment area. For obvious reasons, glass is prohibited in the pool area. A Bottle shop is conveniently located right next door.

Car Parking

The Resort has security car parking that can be accessed via Macrossan Street. You will require a remote control to access the secured area for guest parking. These are available at Reception. Please ensure that you car is always locked as Coconut Grove accepts no liability for damage to your vehicle or property left in your vehicle.

Check Out Time

Check out time is 10:00am. If you would like assistance in booking transfers please contact reception. Transfers need to be booked no later than 24 hours in advance.

Clothes Airers

A clothes airer is located in your room. Please refrain from hanging clothing or towels over your balcony railing as it is an offence under Body Corporate By Laws.

Coffee & Tea Making Facilities

Coffee and tea making facilities are provided in your room with our compliments. Should you have any additional requirements please contact Reception.

Courtesy

We appreciate that you are here to enjoy yourself, as are other guests so please be mindful to keep noise to a minimum between 10pm and 7am.

Credit Cards

Coconut Grove Port Douglas accepts Mastercard and Visa, with a 1.5% non-refundable surcharge. Additionally, we offer Bpay facilities for your convenience.

Electricity

Coconut Grove Resort electricity operates at 240 volts.

First Aid & Emergencies

A fully stocked first aid kit is located in reception for minor injuries. In the event of any emergencies please dial ‘000.’

Foreign Currency & Travellers Cheques

Coconut Grove is unable to change travellers cheques or foreign currency. There are several banks on Macrossan St which can assist you.

General Safety Tips & Security

Keep your apartments secure at all times. Close and lock balcony doors when your balcony is not in use and when leaving your apartment. For your safety, room keys can be left at reception when leaving the resort during reception hours.

Goods & Service Tax

A 10% goods and services tax (GST) applies to all consumer goods and services in Australia. GST reimbursements are available at the International Terminal at Cairns Airport – conditions apply.

Guests Services

Our reception team will be delighted to assist you with booking your tours, mail, messages, local information and a range of other services.

Housekeeping

For stays of more than five nights a mid-stay service will be provided. A daily service or occasional service is available at an extra cost.

Iron

An iron and ironing board are located in your apartment.

Internet

An inter-hotel wireless broadband service is available free of charge. You will need to search for wireless connections and open your internet browser and you should see a billing screen which will ask you for username and password. These can be found on your arrival welcome letter or by contacting reception.

Lost & Found

In the event you have lost or misplaced your personal belongings please contact Reception during opening hours.

Luggage Storage

Check out time is 10am, however Reception can store your luggage for your convenience should you have a late transfer pick up.

Mail

Please leave any items you would like mailed with reception. Stamps are available for purchase from Reception at standard postage charges.

Maintenance

Should you experience any problems with appliances in your room, please contact Reception.

Messages

If you are expecting any messages please check with reception.

Pool Towels

Pool towels are placed in your room for your use during your stay. Please see Reception if additional pool towels are required.

Room Keys

We have a simple key lock system for all guests at Coconut Grove Port Douglas. Should you misplace your key please advise Reception immediately and we will organise a replacement for you. Please note fees will apply for the loss of a room key.

Rubbish Disposal

Rubbish and Recycle bins are located on the ground level. Exit the lift and walk straight ahead through the door to access the car park.

Safes

Room safes are installed for securing your valuables. Follow the instructions on the safe door for directions of use. Please leave the safe unlocked upon departure.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted within the apartments. For the comfort of all our guests, Coconut Grove Port Douglas operates a non smoking policy in our public areas. Smokers are requested to use their balconies or four metres from the entrance to the resort, adhering to the new Queensland smoking regulations. Extra Cleaning and Deodorizing charges will be applied.

Television

A selection of free to air channels will be broadcast on digital. Austar and Movie Link are broadcast on analogue. For further instructions on how to operate the television please refer to the entertainment guide on the TV cabinet.
